It has been a while since I wrote something for you guys, so I thought I would sample how to approach our 3-dice homework using a current astrological occurrence, and give a little extra astrological information that you might find interesting. Of course, if you have any questions, please post them here.
Uranus will be transiting through Taurus over the next 7 to 8 years and affecting some of us more than others. We have a couple of people in our group that will be strongly influenced by this transit because they have packed Taurus houses natally which contain important key planets.
The last time Uranus went through Taurus was during the Holocaust and World War II. The year Uranus began its transit into Taurus, Hitler became the Fuehrer of Germany and Roosevelt devalued the US dollar in relation to gold are just to name a few. Of course there are many more, but I just wanted to make it clear that it was a long time ago and important historical events took place. Uranus is a disruptive energy. The higher purpose of this energy is to shake things up when they have become too stagnant -- to keep the world moving towards something -- evolution.
The house I will use comes from the currently active Mundane Chart, which is determined by the Aries Ingress Chart set for Washington D.C. The Aries Ingress Chart has a Cancer Ascendant, and the rules of Mundane Astrology state that if the Ascendant of the Aries Ingress Chart is cardinal, then it is only active for 3 months and the other cardinal ingresses will need to be used. Therefore, the current Mundane Chart is the Capricorn Ingress Chart which has a Taurus 11th house, so that is what I will use. (Some of you are very interested in Mundane Astrology, so if you want additional information and explanations about this, please let me know. I realize these are probably terms you have never heard, so please ask if you are interested.)
Uranus in the 11th house of Taurus is my fictitious 3-dice roll homework. I already discussed a little about Uranus on a Mundane level, but now I will describe it a little on a more individual level. Uranus likes to bring the unusual and different into the house he is transiting. He's going to shake up the house, break it loose from anything that needs to change. Unexpected things can happen in that house, sudden events and the weird, but also brillant new ideas, and state of the art technology can be brought into the environment. Astrology is ruled by Uranus, and so is air conditioning. (That's just an interesting tidbit I thought I'd thrown in, but one that might be applicable to some people, especially those working in the air conditioning industry.)
The 11th house is about friends, groups and associations, the community and like-minded people banning together. It is about hopes and dreams, and plans for the future. It is how you give back a part of yourself to your community and how you can best achieve your goals. It is something that is never truly finished or achieved -- it is always a work in progress. These are just a few... there are of course, many unlimited way to see the 11th house. (We could use derivative houses... another thing we can talk about in the future.)
Taurus is a fixed-earth sign, ruled by Venus and symbolized by the Bull. Its polarity is feminine, negative, and receptive. These are the things to think about when you describe a sign. What is its element, mode, ruler, symbol, and polarity? These things tell you that Taurus is the most immovable sign, it likes things to remain the same because it is interested in material comfort or a tangible serenity and security. It is sensual, earthy, fond of life's pleasures -- one's that you can touch, see and taste. It just wants to "be" in its surroundings. It is very comfortable "just being" and not having too many disruptions. That way Taurus can enjoy the peace of mind that all is good in the world.
Well, what happens when a force like Uranus comes blazing into such a tranquil fixed environment? For those that have gotten too comfortable, Uranus could be disruptive to make sure you have learned how to remain calm during a storm. This is because the true goal of Taurus is to teach that peace is internal, and all the material comforts that bring peace are only external things that can be taken away. It seems that Uranus, on a Mundane level will be disrupting the community's sense of peace and security. That could look like financial disruptions, earthquakes, sudden actions taken in the community or against the community. It also looks like the creation of unusual groups and organizations, and possible advances in technology that can bring peace to the community. This can represent changes in the way communities operate. For us it represents our Astrology Group filled with like-minded friends, and the peace we achieve through our fellowship together by creating our Uranian-ruled community. We are using this energy constructively.
:-) Namaste' Much love to you all, Susan
